Instructions
- In a heavy bottomed pan, saute cashew nuts, raisins and coconut flakes until light brown
- Wash the rice. Add milk and sugar and rice
- Cook on medium flame for 10 minutes, stirring the rice and milk frequently.
- Add Saffron flakes and continue stirring the pot for another 5-10 minutes.
- Once the rice is soft and cooked, take the pan away from heat.
- In 1 tablespoon of ghee, roast some cashews, almondflakes and pistachios, until the cashew and almond flake is light brown. Garnish on the paal payasam.
- Serve hot or cold.
